Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need an account?

No. Every tool on the site is open to use directly.

Is there a file size limit?

There is no artificial limit. The real limit is your device: images are decoded into memory, so very large files can exhaust a browser tab, especially on phones.

Which formats can be read and written?

Reading: JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, BMP, GIF and SVG. Writing: PNG, JPG, WebP, BMP and AVIF where the browser provides an encoder.

Why can I not create an animated GIF?

Browsers have no GIF encoder, so writing animated GIF files is not possible with the technology this site uses. The affected tools are disabled rather than shipped as placeholders.

Why did my AVIF conversion fail?

AVIF writing depends on an encoder built into the browser and not all of them have one. The tool tells you when yours cannot write the format; a recent Chrome or Edge is the usual fix.

Can I use the tools on a phone?

Yes. The interface adapts to small screens and the file picker works with the phone camera and gallery. Very large batches are better handled on a desktop.
